Been gone for awhile...

As far as the caffeine thing goes... I no longer drink all of the coffee that I used to. I still do have some caffeine, but not nearly as much as I used to. I would say I am having 1/2 cup reg and 1/2 cup decaf per day. I am going to try and eliminate this all together, as I can sense that I am starting to regress.

My 32nd birthday is coming in about 3 weeks, and I am back over 300 pounds. I maxed out at 308.5 this time and then I got a nasty sinus infection and my weight dropped to 302.5. This morning I topped the scales at 304. What does this mean? This means that I need to step up my diet and exercising efforts.

I received a call from my doctor that my blood sugar was a little high last time. This frightened me due to the fact that many of my family members are type 2 diabetics. I have a physical scheduled for July and I am going to come up with some goals. More on this later, but I have the number 275 stuck in my head, is that doable for July? Obviously I have bigger goals in mind, but I want to set intermediate goals along the way.

Can anyone recommend any good cookbooks? I am looking for quick easy and healthy meals. Thanks in advance.

I think 275 is a very nice realistic goal. Sorry...I don't really have any cookbook recommendations. I would just try to stick to lean meats and healthy carbs and lots of veges. My dad is now diabetic and he's lost about 40 pounds eating this way.

i dont have any recommendations on cookbooks either, I dont even have a kitchen right now, heh.
I will say that I think 275 is very doable if you put your mind to it.
Good to see you're back posting. Time to get to work!

Hi Dave. You left a comment on my blog a long time ago asking me if I got a job that I applied for (with Scott Hanselman's coaching). I wanted to let you know (I hate unanswered questions) that yes, I got the job. The interview went great.

Now, good luck to you on the weight loss. I may not be as extreme as you, but I also need to get in shape. I'm a smoker that has gained 80 pounds in the last 10 years (not good). My wife is preggo, so I have to quit smoking and get in shape by July (baby due July 9).

I wish I had some suggestions for you about cooking, but my diet is crap... I personally am going to make a goal of getting to the gym 4 times a week, and to bring my lunch to work (just a ham sandwich and some yogurt or fruit), eat breakfast and dinner at home, and if I MUST eat out, then choosing a salad every time.

Good luck.
