5 day average: 297.9
Total Loss: -10.6
I'm definitely a stress eater....
I started my new job on Monday, so far so good. But, with the stress of a new job and other things going on, I am finding that I don't care what I eat. My weigh-ins have been from 299 to 297 this whole week, but that isn't good enough. I experienced the cafeteria food the first three days this week and I can say with confidence that it will be awhile before I eat there again. I am looking forward to my turkey sandwich, apple, and string cheese.
The good news it that this place is way bigger then where I was working before. I've gone from 4 employees to over 900, so I have to walk a lot more during the day.
Onward and downward...

Today's weight : 295.5
5 day average: 296.9
Total Loss: -11.6
I've had a very difficult and exciting week. I am in the process of changing jobs, so I am going crazy trying to get everything ready for my departure. Plus I am excited and nervous to be moving on. How does this relate to my weight? Well I had a few bad days in there where my weight jumped back up to 298, but it is back down to 295.5. The problem that I am having right now is that I am working so much that I haven't had time to go to the gym. I am somewhat making up for that by staying off of my lazy ass at home and trying to be more active with my family. I know that I could make the time for the gym, but right now I am happy spending that time with my wife, son and dog.
Not to mention, I hurt my foot over the weekend so I am letting that heal as well. That kind of hurts the cardio portion of my workout.

5 day average: 295.9
Total Loss: -12.6
Well the good news is that I have been at 295.5 for the last three days. The bad news is that when I stay up late I eat. I had a really good day yesterday up until 10:30. I probably had about 1000 extra calories in that late night session that lasted until 1:30.
More good news is that today is a new day and I will do better today. I am really starting to understand what I used to do on a daily basis that would keep me at this weight for so long.
Yesterday was also very stressful because I turned in my 2 weeks notice at my current job.
BTW, "The Power of Dave" is going to kick butt.

5 day average: 297.3
Total Loss: -11.2
Yesterday was my first of 2 Labor Day cookouts. I ate well eating a lot of salad and avoiding all but a taste of a few of all of the deserts. My exercise yesterday and today is painting my living room and hallway. The wife and I were up until 1 AM getting the living room's first coat done. I was sweating and moving all day. At least I wasn't sitting on my butt watching TV.
I have to say I feel pretty good today. I recovered quickly and I was able to put the second coat of paint on the walls. I still more painting to do, but I am enjoying updating the house.

Well Friday and yesterday was a big test for my wife and me. Friday was the annual Pitt Alumni social gathering and practice for the Pitt vs. Eastern Michigan game. The difference this year was that we ate dinner before we went and we kept ourselves busy talking to friends and playing with Cooper (my son). The big thing was the free Pizza and Coke that is available to everyone. In the past I would have easily have had like 5 or 6 pieces, but last night we didn't have any. It was a small victory, but one none the less.
The game on Saturday was a good day as well, I help the band on their game day operations staff which requires tons of walking. I should put a pedometer on to see how many steps it was. But anyway, I always have a Primanti's sandwich at the game (a Pittsburgh staple, Steak and cheese with fries and slaw put right on the sandwich). So I decided that I would work this into my diet for the day, so I ate a normal breakfast and I pretty much combined the sandwich into the rest of my meals for the day. I know that this sandwich is very unhealthy, but if I plan it correctly there is no reason that I can't have one on special occasions. My reward for the day, I was another pound lighter this morning.
I am 5'9" and am 31 years old. I have an 19 month old son and a loving and caring wife that will be coming along for the ride.
We will be mostly concentrating on out eating habits and I will be working out at least three times a week, with family walks with the dog on the other days.
Right now my exercise routine consists of 20 minutes of cardio (elliptical, bike, treadmill) and about 15 minutes of circuit training done with little or no rest between sets. I am also using high repetitions and lower weights.
My career as a programmer doesn't allow me the opportunity to get on my feet to much during the day, so i am trying to get up at least once every two hours for a brisk walk around the block.
I am really trying to make small changes and having them stick before moving to the next change. In the past I made all of the changes at once and it didn't last very long.
My son is trying to do all of the same thing that his dad is doing.... and I want to show him the right way.
